Born to an Italian physician and raised in Rome, Giuseppe Russo started out as a classical pianist and prodigy at the age of 8.
Russo began taking acting classes with Carlo Merlo at Art Clesis Rome Academy, and with Beatrice Bracco who taught him Stanislavsky technique tools.
He continued his course of studies with Claudio Boccaccini, Annamaria Cianciulli (Meisner Method), and Bernard Hiller. Giuseppe was one of the most established foreign actors working with Ivana Chubbuck in her invitation-only master class for three years. He recently started studying with Robyn Dale Mayers. In his native country of Italy, he is well known for his numerous performances on popular television shows ( “Lo Zio D’America”, “The Teacher”, “Gente di Mare”, “Distretto di Polizia” among the others) and films (“Non smettere di sognare”, “Operazione Stradivari”, “Il Buio”) . His theatrical career thus far has included a plethora of leading roles, garnering critical acclaim. In 2011, Giuseppe won CTR's Angelo Perugini Best Actor award for his performance in the Italian production of “Tango”.
After moving to Los Angeles, Russo has booked several major national and regional commercials for brand like Red Bull, NBA, Mitsubishi, Cuvee and SMUD plus a series of films including “Insite” starring Academy nominee Eric Roberts. Jay Brannan cast him in his music video for the hit “Square One”. In addition to these experiences, Giuseppe landed a co-star role on the Ryan Murphy FX series “Feud”, alongside Alfred Molina and worked with Francis Ford Coppola in his live cinema short “Distant Vision”. More recently he has been cast in the third chapter of the successful franchise “Dutch” to play opposite Lance Gross.
Russo is also an established voice over actor. His credits include Pixar’s “Luca”,“Guillermo Del Toro Pinocchio”, “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”, “A Classic Horror Story” among many other titles. At the end of 2024 Giuseppe makes his motion capture debut with the character Fiore in the upcoming Machinegames video game “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” and plays the role of Ricci in the podcast “The king of the Peso” alongside Harvey Guillen and Teresa Ruiz.
